1:1 Somatic Mind-body coaching

The word “soma” translates roughly to “the living body.” Instead of approaching an issue with thinking, analyzing or strategizing to overcome obstacles, somatic practices start with noticing and feeling what is going on at the level of felt sense or embodied experience.

Sessions weave together my coaching background with somatic tools like Somatic Stress Release™, Focusing, Somatic EMDR, “parts” work and a variety of body-centred practices including movement, mindfulness and body work. These tools, grounded in polyvagal and attachment theory, support our capacity to navigate challenges, grow resilience and process and integrate intense emotions and experiences. Each session is curated to serve each individual client.

Somatic practice has been transformational for my own well-being. It’s enabled me to transform unhealthy relationship patterns, reduce anxiety, and process grief (which I have found to be an integral part of EVERY healing journey). I’ve had a complete remission of IBS that plagued me for over 20 years. I sleep better, have more energy and tolerate stress better than ever before. I have come to know myself and become my best ally instead of my best critic. I’m able to navigate life transitions and difficult experiences with more ease and less overwhelm. In short, it’s been transformative and empowering.

While everyone’s experience is unique, my own experience of this work’s healing potential, and the experiences I’ve seen with clients, makes me very hopeful and excited to share it.

Most clients come to me seeking support for personal challenges, hoping to change something they feel stuck about, or when they feel confused about their next step (at a significant crossroads or point of change), or overwhelmed in some way. We start our work together by clarifying how I can best serve and support - understanding what’s happening for you now and where you’d like to be when our time together comes to an end. I often describe my role as a coach or doula. I offer somatic tools and practices to keep clients connected to a sense of safety as they mindfully explore ways to process and integrate the challenging and deeply emotional events in their lives. It is a deep honour and joy to facilitate this work as I support clients into somatic self-awareness and unfolding of their body’s inherent wisdom and healing capacity.
